They include:<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20221123041128\/https:\/\/angel.co\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><strong>AngelList<\/strong><\/a>: It has been used by more than 1,000 companies to find accredited investors &#8212; often a mix of &#8220;angels&#8221; and venture capitalists, but smaller investors can play, too.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/circleup.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><strong>CircleUp<\/strong><\/a>: San Francisco startup specializes in helping inventors of consumer products such as pet food and organic snacks find investors.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220426124609\/http:\/\/crowdtilt.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><strong>Crowdtilt<\/strong><\/a>: &#8220;Groupfunding&#8221; site backed by Y Combinator lets groups of friends launch funding campaigns for projects or purchases; money is collected via credit card, and the site takes a cut.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20160805034221\/http:\/\/fundanything.com:80\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><strong>FundAnything<\/strong><\/a>: The site launched by Donald Trump to offer artists, entrepreneurs and philanthropists &#8220;money for their dreams.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/fundersclub.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><strong>FundersClub<\/strong><\/a>: It was launched in July 2012 as an &#8220;online venture capital firm&#8221; whose money comes from individual accredited investors.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20260208004600\/https:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><strong>Kickstarter<\/strong><\/a>: Like rival Indiegogo, best known as a place to find backers for an artistic endeavor or invention, but small tech companies and other businesses can also launch funding campaigns.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.liquidnet.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><strong>Liquidnet<\/strong><\/a>: It offers a platform to let private companies sell shares directly to institutional investors.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20160316101808\/https:\/\/www.secondmarket.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><strong>SecondMarket<\/strong><\/a>: The firm also allows for the buying of private-company shares, but by individuals.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wefunder.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><strong>Wefunder<\/strong><\/a>: It offers &#8220;crowdfunding for startups,&#8221; lets investors put in as little as $1,000 and is making plans to welcome non-accredited investors once federal rules permit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Startups have new options for millions of dollars in &#8216;seed&#8217; cash: A growing number of online portals are bringing together private companies and investors.
